In a thrilling display of Test cricket, India emerged victorious in the second Test against England, winning by 106 runs. This victory brought the five-match series to a 1-1 tie.

India vs England Second Test: The match, held in Visakhapatnam, India, saw stellar performances from Indian bowlers Jasprit Bumrah and Ravichandran Ashwin. The duo shared six wickets, with Bumrah picking up 3-46 in 17.2 overs and Ashwin finishing with 3-72 in 18 overs. Their efforts led to England being bowled out for 292 runs in their pursuit of 399.

Zak Crawley was the top scorer for England with 73 runs. However, no other English batter managed to cross the 40-run mark. India wrapped up the win on the fourth day, just as tea-time approached.

The first Test, won by England in Hyderabad by 28 runs, set the stage for this exciting match. The third Test is set to be played in Rajkot from Feb. 15.

England found themselves in a tough spot at lunch, with the score at 194-6 and needing another 205 runs for a win. Ben Stokes and Ben Foakes added 26 runs for the seventh wicket in an attempt to resurrect the innings. However, a direct throw from square leg by Shreyas Iyer saw Stokes dismissed for 11.

Despite the hard work of Ashwin and Kuldeep Yadav, it was Bumrah who provided the breakthrough, taking a return catch from Foakes.

Mukesh Kumar, bowling for the first time since day three, claimed Shoaib Bashir’s wicket, bringing India closer to victory. Bumrah bowled Hartley in the 70th over, leveling the series for India.

The morning session saw England chasing 399 and losing four quick wickets before lunch. Zack Crawley and Rehan Ahmed took their second-wicket stand to 45 runs off 66 balls, with Ahmed contributing 23 runs in the night watchman role.

Another big moment followed in the 31st over, as Joe Root was caught at backward point, slogging off Ashwin. England was down to 154-4 and needed to see out the session until lunch. But India made a double bowling change, which paid dividends. Yadav came in to trap Crawley lbw for 73, and then Bumrah dismissed Bairstow for 26, resulting in England losing two wickets in five balls.

Young opener Yashasvi Jaiswal scored his maiden Test double hundred – 209 runs.
